2011-2012 NBA MVP Race

In the 2011-2012 NBA season there has been two main players that have been the talk around the league for the MVP trophy. Those people are Lebron James and Kevin Durant. For most of the season Lebron has been leading the league in the MVP running but Durant has always been on his heels. On March 25 the two squared off in what was called a finals preview. Kevin Durant had an outstanding game, he went for 29 points 9 rebounds 8 assists two steals and one block. Lebron on the other hand did not do so well he only had 17 points 7 assists 4 turnovers and 3 rebounds which is well under his season total. Another person that is slowly rising in the ranks of the MVP voting is Tony Parker. In his last 5 games Tony Parker had 20.4 points 8.8 assists and 2.2 rebounds per game. Kobe Bryant is also trying hard to win MVP. He currently sits at the number three spot and is working harder and harder to get to the number one spot. He just recently experienced a trade that might benefit their team now but it might hurt them in the long run. They traded point guard Derrick Fisher away to the Houston Rockets and they got Ramon Sessions from the Cleveland Cavaliers. With Sessions in the lineup Kobe has scored 25.5 points per game and has shot almost 40% from behind the arc. The player I think should win the MVP title is Kevin Durant because he has  been a monster throughout the entire season and he deserves to win the title. He should also win because he is the biggest all-around threat in the NBA this season and his stats prove that.

Photoshopped or not

The blog post Photoshopped or not was published in the New York Times. The arthur of the article is Steve Lohr. The article is about if it is good or bad to modify a celebrities picture so it can make them look better or so they can get more famous. The article stated that Dr. Farid is developing a software tool so they can se on a scale from one to five on how much the picture has been modified. I think that it is good that they alter the pictures of supermodels and famous people because it will help them not get criticized by people and it will make their publicity get higher. If they don't modify the picture then the person that is in the picture will not get as many views on that specific picture. If they modify one and forget to do the other one the person that sees the picture will know that they modify the picture and wont believe anything that they see in the magazine ever again.

For under 30, most births outside of marriage

The article For women under 30 , Most births occur outside of marriage was written by Jason DePARLE and Sabrina Tavernise. The article was published in the New York Times. It talks about how women under 30 are having mot of the children in the United states. They also say that many of the children being born are from mothers outside of marriage. I think that a child being born outside of marriage will develop the same as a child born in marriage. I think this because they will get the right teaching from their parents and they can still know both of their parents if they don't live with each other. I think that a man and women do not need to be married to have a child because they might think they can have a good relationship without being married. The only reason they might not get the right teaching is if the parents are constantly arguing or if they do not get the proper support and nourishment. If a child is born in marriage they won't have nothing that a child born outside of marriage has. The only thing they might have is more experience with both of their parents and they wont have to wait for anything that they need. The article states that about 92% of the college-educated women are married when they give birth. Many of the births that have not been inside of marriages are by couples that lived together. Another reason that births occur out of marriages is because women say that they do not need men to support them.

Joseph Kony

Joseph Kony is a man in Uganda that kidnaps children and force them to kill other people. He use the children as pack mules and sex slaves. If a child acts crazy their ears mouth and nose will be cut off and they are made to eat their own flesh. He captured over 35,000 children or more. He has been torturing four countries in Africa for at least 20 years. He used the children to fight off the Ughandin army so he would not be captured and so he could continue capturing children. I think that it is wrong for Joseph Kony to be capturing these children. He should not be able take children away from their parents and force them to kill them so they wont have no where to call home. I also think that the children can try to overthrow Kony and his men so they can get away to get help or give away his location. If the Children gave away his location then it will be easier to for the armies in different countries to get them to safety and stop Kony's from terrorizing the countries in central Africa. That is what i think about Joseph Kony.

I Pad Good and Bad

The article "In China, Human Costs Are Built Into and i pad" is written by Charles Duhigg and David Barboza. It was published in the New york Times. The article is about. Apple and hundreds of other companies have found a system that allows devices to be made almost as quickly as they can be thought of – but not without a cost. The New York Times is reporting that Apple has become one of the richest companies on the Earth because it has mastered global manufacturing, and has achieved a pace of innovation unmatched in American history. But, the workers who put together i Pads, iPods and Apple computers work under extremely harsh conditions, according to worker advocates, the nations involved and Apple’s own documents. They work long hours, seven days a week, and some say they stand so long their legs swell and they can no longer walk. Underage workers are used, and hazardous materials are improperly disposed of.The article explains that Apple is a tough negotiator with its Asian suppliers, forcing them to compete and allowing the slimmest of profits: “So suppliers often try to cut corners.” One Apple executive concludes that, for now, Apple’s customers care more about low prices and trendy products than work conditions in overseas factories.

Facebook Is Using U

The article Facebook is using you is about facebook and other social sites using different ways to get you to buy items so that they can make more money. They see what people online likes to do and what they buy. When they see that they put ads on your accounts so you will be tempted to buy things. After you buy them they get paid a profit for advertising their product. They also think see the things you put on your account and the information you post to see what you like too. I dont really worry about the things I post online because i do not put personal things online. Or I don't let everyone see the things that i put. If you think you put to much information online then you should not have put up there in the first place. After i read the article i felt the same way as i did before. I felt the same because I do not go to any of the ads on the side of my page because it could be a virus. I also don't click on them because i do not shop online as much as i do at the mall or at stores. If i did shop online I would not have anyway to use them without my mothers credit card.

NBA All Star Weekend

The 2012 NBA All Star will be taking place on February 24 at 9 pm. The East and West All Stars will face off and the starters for the east are Derrick Rose at point guard Dwayne Wade at shooting guard Carmelo Anthony at small forward Lebron James at power forward and Dwight Howard at center. The starters for the west are Chris Paul at point guard Kobe Bryant at shooting guard Kevin Durant at small forward Blake Griffin at power forward and Andrew Bynum at center .The dunk contest will consist of Paul George, Derrick Williams, Jeremy Evans, and Chase Budinger. They will also have a Sprint Celebrity game and a rising stars game. The rising stars game will have Blake Griffin from the Clippers Jeremy Lin, Ricky Rubio, Markleff Morris, Kemba Walker, Landry Fields, Norris Cole, Brandon Knight, Tristan Thompson, and Greg Monroe on Team Shaq. Team Chuck had Kyrie Irving, Demarcus Cousins, Derrick Williams, Paul George, Marshon Brooks, John Wall, Tiago Splitter, Evan Turner, Gordon Hayward, Kawhi Leonard, and Derrick Favors. The three point contest will have Kevin Durant, Kevin Love, James Jones, Mario Chalmers, Ryan Anderson, and Anthony Morrow. They will also have a skills challenge with Stephen Curry, Russell Westbrook, John Wall, Kyrie Irving, Tony Parker, Rajon Rondo, and Deron Williams. I think that the people that they picked to play in the all star game was good. They picked all good players and they picked ones that were capable of playing in the all star game. The only thing is they should have started russel westbrook instead of chris paul. In the rising stars game they forgot to put James harden and Lou Williams. They forgot them because they both are having an outstanding season. They are coming off the bench helping their team win games. That is why they need to be in rising stars game. In the skills challenge they should have chosen steve nash because he has some of the best handles in the NBA. They picked the best players for the job in ever other event that will be going on.
